I am a Mother, Grandmother, Spouse, Pet Mama as well as an LMT, Board Certified Therapist, Educator, Midwife, Healer and Spiritual Clergy, born and raised in El Paso Texas and South America. I currently live and practice in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I come from a family of doctors and healers going back 7 generations, and I draw on my family’s Cheyenne, Lakota, and indigenous Latin American spiritual and healing traditions in my own work and life. My grandmother was one of the first women chiropractors to be licensed. My grandfather was a doctor, and my father worked with him doing births and family care. Later, I worked with my father doing births, and when I was 17 years old, I caught my first baby. Iv's spent 30 plus years in Midwifery practice and have expanded to include massage therapy, herbalism, aromatherapy, Reiki, spiritual healing, childbirth education, labor support, doula training, CPR and First Aid training, midwifery education, massage education, sex education, transgender healthcare, LGBTQ awareness education, and peace and social justice activism advocacy. I helped found the first LGBTQ center in Las Cruces. I've been serving in the Southwest since 1995.
I believe healing includes body, mind, and spirit. I can aid you in finding the source of the pain, by beginning a healing journey with you, by including and encouraging you to participate in the healing process.
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist NM #6868, RMTI-S #0498, RMTI-I #0595 LMr Licensed Midwife retired, CPMr Certified Midwife retired, Certified Aroma therapist, and Certified Master Herbalist with a Degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Spiritual Healing.
I have lived in South America, Mexico, and have traveled in Europe, Africa, and North America, and various other parts of the world. I have studied, practiced, and taught in many of these places. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. Not just my father’s daughter, I also have carried on my mother’s legacy as an educator. I founded the Living Tree International College of Midwifery, which trains and sends apprentice midwives around the world to learn from birthing and midwifery experiences in countries still undergoing industrialization. I am also the founder and creator of the DAME (Doulas Attending Mothers Exceptionally) program, a bilingual doula certification training program. I am the recipient of the Vagina Worrier Award for my support and service of women. For many years, I trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) across New Mexico, and currently provide safe housing for victims of trauma and abuse. There are many other programs I've been blessed to be a part of but too many to list.
I currently work for and manage Massage Therapy Training Institute (MTTI), a massage school and community Massage Clinic. I've been with MTTI since 2009. First as a student and then as a staff member. I am still pursuing my own education because I love to learn. I have found over the years that my students have been among my greatest teachers and I am a very dedicated educator. I continue to do research and develop programs to aid healing. I bring all of my professional education and experience to this endeavor, as well as my personal experiences. My Heart is dedicated to serving students and my community. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
